JavaScript is a programming language that drives the web: from front-end user interface design, to backend server-side programming, you’ll find JavaScript at every stage of a web site and web application. In this course, you’ll learn the fundamental programming concepts and syntax of the JavaScript programming language.

  1. var welcome = prompt(‘Enter your Name to login’);
    var welcome2 = prompt(“Enter your Gender”);
    //var welcome3 = welcome2.toUpperCase

    if (welcome2.toUpperCase === “MALE”)
    {
    document.write(“Welcome Mr.” +” “+ welcome);
    }
    else if (welcome2 === “FEMALE”)
    {
    document.write(“Welcome Miss.” + ” ” + welcome);
    }
    else {
    alert(“Please add your gender correctly”);
    }

    I am trying the condiitional with gender as a param.

    The program is not working. How to go about

  2. I had problems with understanding few things from Jim’s course, so i tried with this one with Dave. It was a perfect solution! After basic course with Dave, where he gave a lot of practical examples of using JS i continued with Jim’s course and now it’s completely understandable for me. If someone is a begginer with programming i recommend the same way i did. First check out Dave’s basic training and after that Jim’s lessons. Thanks Treehouse 🙂

    I just finished the JavaScript course this weekend. Well done, Dave! The pace was just right for a reasonably intelligent beginner. I am looking forward to the next level of JavaScript training. The lessons coming out of Treehouse are getting better and better.

  4. Hey would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re utilizing?
    I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say
    this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest a good
    web hosting provider at a honest price? Thank you, I appreciate it!

  5. Superb course. I like Javascript as a language. Its consistent and has a lot of very nice features.

  6. Seriously, it’s the best Javascript course i ever seen, including old Treehouse courses, and other websites. Nothing against Jim, i’m sure he’s a cool guy and a good dev, but (especially for a stranger) he was too fast, the accent was harder to understand than Nick or Guil, and the courses were (for me, but i saw yesterday it’s the case for other users too, check gloria comment here https://teamtreehouse.com/forum/learning-javascript-2) little bit hard to understand.

    So i paused Javascript courses on Treehouse, searching for other JS ressources on the web. Until your Javascript Basics came, and now i’m totally passionate about it !

    Thank you Treehouse, again and again.
