Treehouse NewsNew Course: AJAX Basics

writes on June 30, 2014

We’re excited to announce a brand new course at Treehouse – AJAX Basics. Teacher, Dave McFarland, has been busy researching, writing and filming this exciting new course over the last few months. Now it’s ready for release.

In this course, you’ll learn how AJAX works and how you can use JavaScript to communicate with a web server. You’ll use plain JavaScript as well as jQuery to create AJAX requests and use the response to dynamically update your web pages. Along the way, you’ll build mini-projects to reinforce your learning. You’ll wrap up the course with a small project, that shows you how to apply what you’ve learned to pull images from Flickr and display them on your web site. Learn more about the AJAX Basics course.

If you don’t know what AJAX is then watch Dave’s primer video, ‘What is AJAX?‘. Or check out how to get started working with APIs by reading Dave’s tutorial on ‘Getting Started with APIs‘.
