Treehouse is the leader in education for web designers and developers. We pride ourselves in offering quality articles on cutting edge design, development, and mobile development topics, but we need great people like you to add even more value!
The Treehouse community of readers is what makes our blog so great. The sharing of knowledge, tips, tricks, and trends all make for an inviting, energetic, and resourceful publication. Nothing makes us happier than adding to our network and growing the web community that we all love so much.
We’re always looking for new writers to join our team. So if you think you have what it takes to write for Treehouse, let us know!
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for passionate designers and developers who can successfully express themselves. Our contributors don’t just need to be experts in their field, they need to be great writers.
You should have significant experience and a strong background in the topic you want to write about. Also make sure you can effectively communicate your ideas to the average reader. It’s one thing to be a master of Photoshop or dynamic programming, but it’s another to simply and effectively explain your process to a mass audience.
What should you write about?
Feel free to pitch us on any web design or development topic of interest, but note that we’re currently looking for articles on the following:
- Responsive Design
- CSS3
- HTML5
- Ruby on Rails
- PHP
- jQuery
- iOS
- Android
- Mobile
- Usability
- Coding
- Freelancing
- Productivity
- … and anything else web related.
How do you apply?
If you’re interested in writing for us, send me a brief email to josh@teamtreehouse.com, outlining your experience as well as specific articles you’d like to submit.
Let us know about:
- Who have you written for in the past?
- Provide 3 examples of articles you’re most proud of.
- How many articles can you write per month?
- How many words do you usually write per article?
- Do you do illustrations?
Also be sure to include links to your previously published work. We typically pay $100-$200 per published article, but we know really good work when we see it… (hint).
Thank you very much and we’re looking forward to working with you!
