The Most Interesting People to Follow on Twitter

Update: You can now follow this list with just one click. Head over to the @carsonified/recommended list.

We’ve posted two Twitter lists (top web designers and developers) and now it’s time for our third and final list: Interesting People to Follow Twitter.

Just to be clear:

  1. In order to give new people exposure, we haven’t included anyone that was on the two previous lists.
  2. This is completely subjective. The only criteria for getting on the list is that we think you’re interesting.
  3. The list is heavy on the ‘tech’ side, but that’s because we’re a bunch of geeks.
  4. We know you won’t agree with everyone we’ve chosen, but nevertheless, we hope you find it useful.
  5. The list isn’t in any particular order.

If you have any suggestions for folks we missed, please reply to me on @ryancarson or in the comments below.

  1. @chafkin Writer for .Inc Magazine

  4. I tried following some from the first list for a couple weeks. Not the first time I've tried this but definitely the last. Twitter is a flat out stupid waste of everything.

  7. It seem everyone in UK is following @stephenfry (Legendary headfull of knowledge and British Icon). You get poetic tweets like:”Forgive Tweetlessness – torrents of tasks tormenting me. Off to “panel” on Digital doings at Brit Library organized by Mandelson's Biz Deptabout 2 hours ago from Tweetie” and general foppishness

  9. I just joined Twitter and wasn't really sure what to do or who to follow. This list has really opened my eyes. Thanks!

  10. Maybe I'm just old (47) and cranky but I don't undertand what people find interesting about Twitter. That said, the comment above is uncalled for IMHO.

  12. I just got turned on to Twitter and appreciate this list. I usually give lists like this a week and then delete the ones that I don't find very interesting.

  14. This is great! Thanks for sharing this lists, I would probably add some of them who's not yet at my followed lists.

  16. I find it frustrating, just when I am about to finish a sentence I'm in the neg zone. The only thing, I have found on Twitter of interest is some of the links to pages and blogs. I am a business solutions “expert” always on the hunt for more ideas for Website optimization, so in some ways Twitter is useful. Now, a boy, and I guess I am old enough to call him a boy this Aston turd, married to Demi Moore, putting up billboards for people to follow him over the news. Man, I was married to Demi, I'd be in that bedroom 24/7 instead of worrying about my position on Twitter, this guy is out of it. Remember Ash baby when the pap caught little Leo hopping Demi's fence when he first arrived in Hollywood LOL! It's her thing young boys like U!!

  27. I wonder how long twitter will live. In my opinion it's just a hype, and will die quickly. I might be wrong though.

  30. I really need to get into this Twitter game. I'm hearing so much about it. Even that it is giving heat to Google, of all corporations! Seems like you can really find a lot on Twitter. nj mortgage

  37. What did you think of the Comedian In Chief, at the corospondent's dinner? I thought President Obama was very good, he may be material for Hollywood? or Bollywood? Lyndon Sullivan.(@lindano/twitter).

  43. Hey, what did you think of Larry King ,being interviewd on his own show?I thought it was very entertaining, &absorbing, Larry has had such a chequered life of ups & downs,& now at the age of 75, is right at the top of his game, what a guy! Lyndon Sullivan. @lindano on twitter!

  44. Every one is interesting in their own world, virtual &real, it really comes down to what the individual thinks is interesting, may be twitter, or face book, or a million other things.the only thing i find with comments is you rarely get a reply back.Yours, Lyndon Sullivan,…@lindano on twitter.

  45. I'm still holding out on Twitter since I think it is just a short fad. 148 characters only? That's so 90's? Besides, you can now update what you are doing right now on facebook, which more people use.

  46. Every time i post a comment i wonder who will read it?,Still here we go,how many conservative Americans are surprised how popular President Obama is?, would they vote for him if he were leader of the Republicans?.I think it would be a interesting scenario, maybe its not the Political party but the man! Yours , Lyndon Sullivan. @lindano, on twitter.

  47. Hi back again I think your list of people is excellent, all worthy to follow without doubt,& a lot of new twitter users will.I would like to make a suggestion, for a list of comparatively new people to Twitter, & have a list of forty or so newbies twitterers, that would encourage more people to post comments on, what they think of them, how long will they last , etc. Yours, Lyndon Sullivan.@lindano on Twitter.

  48. twitter is big in the blogosphere altho users are just 1/3 of facebook total users. so twitter matters (to the guy who said twitter is something suck)

@lindano what you are doing is more like spamming. Wheres admin? ryan, you should take a look at this one.

  49. How about posting a “Most likely to follow you back article.”
I’m not really in Twitter to massage someone else’s ego.
    Those people have enough follows.

    :]

  50. website speed gurus @aptimize are worth a mention, pretty cutting edge ‘under the radar’ stuff they’re involved in.

  51. I love following Comedian/Actor Kyle Cease @kylecease because not only is he hilarious, and does fun things with fans like call them to try out material & do giveaways, but also for Breast Cancer Awareness month he’s donating 10 cents per follower to the Susan G. Komen for the cure charities and thanking those who RT what he’s doing on his video podcast!

  52. Just curious why would you post a twitter account that has ONE tweet? (@fwdfwdfwd)
dont know if this has already been answered, but the rest look great. thanks!

  53. @SammyJPeppers always has really funny posts. If you like dwight from the office you’ll love their tweets.

  54. @TheWayPoSeesIt is a twitter account quoting funny remarks of a six year old boy! Hilarious.
