In honor of International Women’s Day, we’d like to celebrate all the female programmers in the Treehouse community. You’re an inspiration and a source of motivation. Thanks for being awesome!

Here are just a few of the inspiring women who have shared their stories with us. They’ve each empowered themselves through coding and launched new or evolved successful tech careers. We asked them to share their most valuable coding wisdom.

What advice would you share with new students who are just starting to learn to code?

Kavitha-red

Kavitha joined Treehouse and after only 4 months of learning released her first app to the App Store. She’s since released another and is working on more exciting projects. We recently met up with Kavitha, and you can watch her story here

Melanie-green

Melanie Pellegrino went from owning a bakery to traveling the world with her family as a freelance web designer. Read her full-length interview with Treehouse here.

Malina-grey

Ashley-purple
